Current Openings - MechanicsMechanic, Ground Support Equipment Location: Bridgewater, VA Job Description: This position is responsible for the maintenance of all assigned Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and other vehicles. Job Responsibilities: The Mechanic, Ground Support Equipment is responsible for establishing and keeping records on repairs and operational readiness of assigned equipment , testing fuel for contamination, and repairing gasoline and diesel engines and fuel pumps. This position is also responsible for performing preventative maintenance: troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, inspecting, testing, operating and maintaining serviceability of assigned powered and non-powered GSE and non GSE, and other additional duties as assigned. Job Requirements: The ideal candidate must have a high school education or equivalent. This position requires a demonstrated technical aptitude with a minimum of 2 years’ experience maintaining motor vehicles and/or aviation ground support equipment. Additional requirements include the ability to read, write and perform basic math calculations, previous experience fixing vehicles/GSE/heavy equipment and a strong electrical troubleshooting ability. The following are physical requirements that are related directly to the position: the ability to crawl in and out of tight spaces, comfortably work at elevated heights of at least 40 feet for extended periods of time, lift balance and carry 50 pounds, work in enclosed hangers and exterior weather conditions and work in close proximity to other people. Previous experience with refueling systems, including fabrication hoses, test fuel, and maintaining gasoline/diesel engines and collapsible drums is preferred.
