Part-time Security Officer

Location: Bridgewater, Virginia

Job Description: The Security Officer provides support to the Security Department in the protection of company and government property, employees and assets. The Security Officer also supports the Safety, Flight Operations and Facilities departments with other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities: The Security Officer will inspect, monitor, control, and patrol airport and company property during business and off-hours. The Security Officer will also detect, deter, and report on any situation or activity that could lead to loss or harm; respond to emergency situations; interface with police, fire and other emergency service personnel; and collect and complete paperwork, including daily reports and vehicle logs. Additional responsibilities include ensuring runway and ramp environments are safe for aircraft, visitors, and employees; maintaining a high awareness of the surroundings, reporting any abnormalities found during inspections and physical tours of the interior and exterior all of company facilities; and providing for a safe, secure environment by enforcing policies and procedures and applicable Virginia State Statues that enhance the protection of people, properly, and assets of the facility.

Job Requirements: The ideal candidates must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of experience in the security field or a related area. The applicant should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of security; possess a valid clean Driver's license; and have the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance. The applicant must also possess strong organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and possess basic computer skills, specifically with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. The applicant must have the ability to physically carry and handle company approved firearms in compliance with DCJS standards.
