Aviation Buyer Location: Bridgewater, Virginia Job Description: The Aviation Buyer will provide purchasing services to internal and external customers. Job Responsibilities: The Aviation Buyer will place orders for parts in a timely fashion and complete all associated reporting; coordinate returns, claims and certification issues; and follow directions and remain on task with minimal direct supervision. The Aviation Buyer will also assist in the development of sourcing agreements to control costs; act as the primary contact with certain vendors and develop vendor relationships; and work smoothly with a diverse group of employees inside and outside of Logistics. Additional responsibilities include proficiency with all resources for parts research including ATA and IMP and proficiency with all relevant aspects of Pentagon software suite. Physical requirements include the ability to work in close proximity to other people and the ability to lift, balance, and carry up to 25lbs. Job Requirements: The ideal candidate must possess a High School diploma or equivalent, while some college is preferred. Applicants must have proven keyboarding skills for efficient data entry, documented proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Outlook and Excel, and proficiency with Internet navigation. Additional requirements include knowledge of aviation terms and activities; working knowledge of maintenance activities, parts, and tools; experience with industrial or aviation purchasing software; and the ability to read and understand aircraft parts and maintenance manuals for research.
